MUSEUMS AS A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION

I delight in the way artists and creators channel their deepest thoughts and emotions—whether it’s through the delicate strokes on paper, the vibrant colours on a canvas, or the intricate forms of sculptures or installations. Whether they paint, draw, sculpt, sew, crochet, or hammer, each act of creation, crafted with hands and fingers, brings a unique and profound expression to life. It is as if each creator is inviting us into experience a universe of their own making.

I am fascinated by the natural, raw essence of art, as a reflection of life’s vitality and its spectrum of human emotions. I find immense pleasure in art that exudes beauty providing an alternative perspective to the lens of our reality. The world can be so overwhelmingly sorrowful and painful, and I believe art provides a realm of wonder that offers a counterbalance – a source of joy and inspiration. It thrills me when art transports me into a magical world of imagination, where colours and forms resonate deeply, and the artist’s vision feeds my own imagination.

Recently, the 'Roy Lichtenstein: A Centennial Exhibition’ exhibition at the Albertina Museum in Vienna captivated me. Lichtenstein’s mastery of Pop Art, especially life stills, is still so revolutionary. I adore his concepts, his approach to rawness and crucial essence, his reduction to essentials, his use of form and colour, and his technique of representation strike me as dynamic and fantastic force. Indeed, immersing oneself in his art is a profound enrichment. This experience was more than just an exhibition…it was an electrifying journey through Lichtenstein’s imaginative realm, truly exhilarating.
